• I recently completed my Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and, following a successful panel interview, was elected a Member of the IMechE and recommended for registrattion as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council (UK). • My paper on Active Roll Control of an Experimental Vehicle was awarded the 2005 IMechE Safety Award. The Award is made for "the best paper published by the Institution in the previous year on the subject of the elimination of dangerous dust arising from mining and industrial tunnelling and the removal of rock from the surface or under-ground or any aspect thereof or any other aspect of eliminating danger to health in mechanical engineering and research into matters connected with any such subject".
